Transgender
Sasha Allen who is an openly transgender female transgender singer who made it onto the Live Shows on The Voice set the record straight when they got there. The first time in 21 years of The Vocal competitions Sasha could make it past The Battle Rounds. The Newtown, Conn. duo are now part of the Top 8 of the contest! Sasha announced that he's transgender when they presented their audition packages during the Blind Auditions. According to Parade.com, this was not a quick decision. "That was an extremely difficult choice because you are showing a very personal and vulnerable aspect of yourself to a lot of millions of individuals," said Sasha, who was transgender while at high school. The support of the fans as well as the effects that this can have on the people around, even though the decision was hard to make it was what ultimately was the main factor that convinced Sasha that his decision was beneficial. "We performed it long before The Voice was even a feature for us. After we got it, we were delighted. The song was one we already knew, it was a song we knew we had ideas to arrange. "I am pleasantly amazed at how the crowds nailed the tune."
